John Obi Mikel hits back at Nicolas Jackson, threatening to shut up if he scores every week
Former Nigeria midfielder John Obi Mikel has hit back at Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson , saying he was simply saying the forward needed to improve his finishing and not criticising him in any serious way, while insisting Jackson still needs to improve his shooting.
Speaking on the latest edition of the Obi One podcast, Mikel gave his thoughts on Jackson’s Instagram post and reinstated that he actually liked the player but believed there were elements of his game that needed improving:
“I really like the guy as a สมัคร ufabet football player. I like him. There’s something there as a football player. You know, I haven’t said that he’s a bad player at all. I’ve just said that his finishing qualities are not there yet.
After Chelsea ‘s first league game of the season, which was lost to Manchester City
Mikel said that Jackson still doesn’t know how to shoot well and that Chelsea are missing a top striker. Jackson recently scored inside the first 98 seconds of the Blues’ win over Wolverhampton Wanderers and he told Mikel to shut up.
Miguel said: “I like him as a footballer. I really like him. He has the potential to be a footballer, but he needs to improve his skills. He needs to improve his finishing. I never said he was a bad player. I just said he was not a good finisher.”
“He’s still young, I just said he need experience striker to help him, to help him get better. We all see him working hard every week, he’s running around and putting himself in good positions to score goals, but his finishing isn’t impressive, that’s all I’m saying.”
“He’s still young and needs someone to help him. If he scores every week, then he can tell me to shut up.”
